First Birthday

Boy turned 1 on Sunday, so I got to make a first birthday cake. I used a 18cm square tin, and cut it up tangram-style to make a number 1. Many thanks to Delia Smith for her best carrot cake recipe.

My idea was to ice it with a thick cream cheese icing, and decorate it with tinted marzipan, however I discovered it is not a good idea to add greek yoghurt to icing mix, no matter how thick it is. So the icing slid off in droves and puddled in sweet pools around the base. Oh well, it tasted good.
